Life: Air Signs as "Signaler's"?

Love: When I opened Pandora's Box (Remember that post about Voudou?)...yea.

2006.  Previously, I was introduced to the idea of Pandora's Box via an experience I had with someone from high-school.  That time it was music.  I was a slight music aficionado due to my older sister's boyfriend. He had opened up our world to music from the east coast.  A total split from what we were raised listening to in a household ran by a devout Christian.  Imagine my siblings and I in Houston knocking our rides with the Wu-Tang clan and the likes in the 90's.  Oddballs.  But this experience with music through that person, my old high-school friend, introduced me to the classics. Black classics.  The soundtrack of my life from 2001-2006 had been Minnie Riperton, Jeffrey Osbourne, The Commodores (Zoom is my favorite) and more.  And also a soundtrack that led me to the actual box.  To me music and history are undeniably intertwined and when I opened this box.  I was taken back to the foundation of it all through w...

Fashion: Searching for Low-Luxe

fast sports car ✔️? no car ✔️? half a mil in assets and growing✔️? no assets ✔️? small starter home i've lived in for 20+ yrs  to nix extravagant bills and thus the need to work into perpetuity ✔️ travel when I want ✔️ European bag brands 🚫 and never will... This bag though?...I did. I found Karrica.co on TikTok.   A luxury bag brand founded by a beautiful black woman. Everyone talks about quiet luxury...I decided that this would be the route to flex mine. In what I call, Low-Luxe.   ******************************************************* REVIEW The La Cindi Bag is a beautiful, leather croc embossed bag, with gold hardware, suede lining and a convenient magnetic closure. I simply can't wait to dump more "things" into it. It's a deep bag with a slight pocket insert I use to hold my license and a few other cards. I've worn it whenever I'm out and so far so good.  A few heads have turned trying to decipher the logo for research I suspect.  I own ...

Art: I Don't Stay Bottom

I don’t stay bottom   Spirit gave me instructions today > Blue, orange  for the monarch butterfly and the bug seen this am during a morning smk sesh in my backyard.   Both floated near by, in rhythm. First the monarch and then the unknown bug.    What struck me the most was how blue that damn bug was.    I watched it intensely to make sure it wouldn’t attack. Lol.   Both however… not staying bottom.  They floated...flew. Something I've been wishing i could do lately. Spirit spoke and hinted at “intuition” . Why? What do I mean?   I've been consulting ChatGPT lately because my soul has been disturbed after searching for information/confirmation my brain just can't seem to let go of surrounding someone. I found it.  I was led by intuition.  The info hurt and swelled in me like raging fire. It had to be revealed I guess. It caused tears, confusion...resentment towards the one true “essence”, Elohim . And then, as the bl...

Beauty: Serena Williams and the match she lost...

A beauty review drop to come soon.

Life: Congruency Fail 🥴

I'm learning that what appears to be two equal sides can in fact be an illusion.  Congruency is a fallacy?  The "agreement" is...one-sided? Yes.  So, this is my achilles heel.  I enter into situations that I believe to be genuine and usually end up in defeat.  They say there is a lesson in one's mistakes and I do agree but that typically leads to self-isolation for me. I never realize just how naive I am until it occurs.  It occurred recently with several people, strangers, loved ones and I've been isolating now for a year plus.  And while I do miss these people deeply, besides the awareness here's what else I've learned and what I'm most proud of... My "detach" game? Oh, it's elite. But, I hate playing it. I really adore the thought of getting to know, trust, indulge, and love.  Yet all of these things as I'm learning are actually weaknesses? On what planet can one actually align and truly trust that they are valued/seen?

Life: Health Anxietyyy???

I took this photo of this man on a ride to work on Metro one morning. I couldn't believe this B was facing me. I was pissed.  I did chuckle a little though at his audacity. Now on to it. Health Anxiety...I have it.  Okay, I'm not going to put THAT into the atmosphere...I had it.  Because of what I perceived was extreme weight loss.  I recently began working out again after two months of monitoring myself because of it.  and by monitoring myself, I mean doing absolutely nothing. Waking up and living, no working out, eating whatever just to try and gain weight.   Just when I think i've gained a few pounds the next day, gone.  kept smkng / drinking and even began eating meat to "see"...nothing. The only thing that relieved me a little was remembering the doctor's visit I had in early when I registered at my current weight with clothes on. That means I would have been less naked right?  Does that make sense? so essentially, I've gained? I even h...

Beauty: Not a Makeup Girlie...

I'm pretty sure I was HAF here. In fact, 9 times out of 10 if you see me in person, I'll be bare faced.  I do like when my makeup is worn though...like hours in. I come from an era where makeup was not a thing. Social media was also not a thing. I always think about how different life would be if it were. Circa 95-99?..."tuh"  I can guarantee that this young generation would be even more crazy.  Each generation says that. One thing I did do besides lipgloss, sliced/shaved eyebrows and deep black lip liner? red lipstick. I inherited it from my mother and it was only on occasion. And this was also a time when I wore dresses to highschool. Work dresses to be exact. smh.  I was in corporate before I actually went corporate. I've always had more than a few screws loose.  xoxo Flynn PS: I did a whole photoshoot with this makeup...I didn't show anyone .

Art: The Abstract Era that never happened...ok, briefly.

How I feel inside when the... gummies kick in. I'm stopping them soon...maybe Artwork from this session...this "era". After Before This era proved to be a bust. Mainly because I lost my motivation mid-way in.   Once I start thinking about HOW much art I've created over span of two decades, I admit, my drive decreases.  This was an attempt to be wild and free because abstract art allows for it.  I've been so by the book with everything else so I thought I'd try my hand.  Most artists are afraid of the abstract route because of how it's been trivialized.  Some do it really well, others are try hards.  I guess this failed because I felt like the latter.  Title: Beneath the Surface, in the Clouds" - black charcoal / white acrylic paint on Anti-dote wrapping paper from a purchase made.  I liked the message on it. "One must be absolutely modern" In progress for a show in 2026 xoxo  FLynn PS: These haven't sold. I'll let each go for hal...

Life: Really tho...where do I begin?

I love blogging...I'm not a writer though.  I'm a 40+ woman with roots in the north and south. Deep. I've seen and see a lot. Even things that are unseen. Kept hidden, buried, forgotten.  I call myself an artist but the world doesn't see it so I now believe that I've misunderstood the very definition. This is a memento to myself and/or to those who keep wild thoughts but are afraid to express them and would rather drown in mine.  I have advice/tips too though but use or take at your own risk.  welcome to the dirty side of what I wanted to remain a beautiful one.  I can hide here and subsequently just...be.  xoxo - F PS: I'm tired of social media...I just learned that all are in fact dating apps? If true...then I'll be here for a while. by here, this blog.
